General Terms and Conditions

  • Validity: The business relationship between Veloparts GmbH and the customer is governed exclusively by the following General Terms and Conditions in the version valid at the time of the order. Deviating conditions of the customer are only valid with the written consent of Veloparts GmbH.
  • The Offer: Our offers are non-binding and without obligation in all respects.
  • Delivery Times: Delivery dates are generally non-binding, except for agreed fixed dates. Claims for damages due to delay are excluded. Partial deliveries, especially for larger orders, must be accepted by the customer.
  • Benefit and Risk: Transfer as soon as the goods are taken over or handed over for shipment.
  • Shipping: only to addresses in Switzerland until further notice. Collection from our premises in Oberurnen (Switzerland) is possible by prior appointment.

    Customs clearance and VAT for collection by international customers. When goods are purchased and collected by persons residing abroad, the sale price including Swiss VAT is initially charged. If the goods are properly exported from Switzerland, the Swiss VAT can be refunded at a later date. This requires the buyer to present an export certificate (original invoice) stamped by Swiss Customs when crossing the border and to send this to us within a reasonable period of time. The refund of the Swiss VAT will be processed upon receipt of the properly stamped proof of export. When importing the goods into the respective country of destination (e.g., Germany, Austria, Italy), the applicable import sales tax and any customs duties must be paid by the buyer. The responsibility for proper customs clearance and declaration lies with the buyer.

  • Prices: All prices are quoted in Swiss Francs, including the current value-added tax, ex Oberurnen.
  • Payment: Orders are generally shipped against prepayment. Payment on site is possible by arrangement. The goods remain our property until full payment has been received.
  • Warranty / Product Liability: All our products are delivered in perfect condition. We grant the following warranty periods starting from the date of purchase:
    – 3 years: Frameset
    – 2 years: Paintwork, components, accessories

If a warranty claim is made, it will result in neither an extension of the warranty period nor a new start of the warranty period. If there is a defect in the purchased item, we reserve the right to fulfill the warranty through remedy of defects or replacement delivery.

The warranty excludes damage resulting from natural wear and tear, improper use, or lack of or incorrect maintenance. The warranty expires if repair attempts by the customer or third parties lead to further deterioration or if the cause of the damage can no longer be determined as a result. For correct assembly, a torque wrench must be used and the specified torque settings must be strictly adhered to. The warranty expires if components are not assembled exactly according to the instructions provided by Veloparts GmbH.

If frames or forks are painted by the customer, the warranty expires. Since we have no influence over the preparation and painting process, this can lead to invisible pre-existing damage to the frame or fork. In our technology, UD carbon (unidirectional) / visible carbon serves a structural function. During production and curing in the mold, slight shifts in the fabric may occur. The reflective properties of carbon make even minor shifts in the weave visible. Such irregularities and small air inclusions are inherent to the technology, cannot be entirely avoided, and do not constitute a manufacturing defect. Design decals may be subject to a certain amount of wear and tear due to sunlight, use, and cleaning. Unsightly decals can be replaced as long as stocks last, but as cosmetic defects, they do not constitute grounds for a warranty claim.
Soweit sich nachstehend nichts anderes ergibt, sind weitergehende Ansprüche des Kunden, gleich aus welchen Rechtsgründen, ausgeschlossen.

  • Veloparts GmbH is not liable for damages caused by improper handling by the customer or external influence; in particular, Veloparts GmbH is not liable for lost profits or other financial losses of the customer. Under no circumstances shall the customer have claims for compensation for damages that did not occur to the delivered item itself (consequential damages). This limitation of liability does not apply where mandatory law (e.g., product liability obligations) prohibits it.
  • Crash Replacement
    Crash Replacement is a voluntary service provided by Veloparts GmbH, offering you a one-time opportunity to have your IKARUS frame replaced at a 30% discount off the currently applicable, official list price.
  • Right of Return and Exchange: Exchanges or returns of items (excluding complete bicycles) can only be accepted within 10 days in the unopened original packaging. In the event of an exchange, the full value of the goods will be credited. For returns, we will refund the value of the goods minus a processing fee of 10% of the value of the goods, with a minimum charge of CHF 15.00. Customised orders, e.g., complete bikes, cannot be returned.
  • **Acceptance and Jurisdiction:** By placing an order, the customer accepts the above general terms and conditions. The place of jurisdiction for any disputes is the registered office of Veloparts GmbH.
